The ocean is not only the focus of Thomas Foreman’s new professional venture, Salt Water Images, but forms a part of his individual identity, having played an integral role in everything from his career choices and travel destinations to lifestyle.
Tom was born and raised in Cornwall before relocating to Australia in his early twenties, where he continued to live on the coast while beach lifeguarding and formally studying photography.
He returned to Cornwall for a Christmas break to visit family and fell back in love with the place he’s proud to call home and never left. Having since established himself as a professional photographer, Tom lives with his family a stone’s throw from the beach in Long Rock.
“I am passionate about the sea and spend a lot of time in it, specifically open water swimming (I also co-run Sea Swim Cornwall holiday company) and underwater and in-water photography,” he says. “Capturing Cornwall’s dramatic land- and seascapes while - quite literally - being immersed in it gives a unique perspective and stunning set of images with visible depth and an almost-palpable extra dimension.”
